The most wonderful time of the year

Here we are, mid-December, and we're just now getting our Christmas decorations up, lol. Spending Thanksgiving in Colorado sort of threw us off, time-wise, but hey, better late than never.

Normally I wait until the very end of the year to make my "plans for the new year" post, but I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do, and I need to post something, so hey.

The free promo for The Only One did so much better than I would've imagined. I'm still reeling over how great November was in terms of pages read, and though it's slacked off a bit, to my surprise, people are still reading it, and are starting to read my other books as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the promo for No Safe Place does over Christmas, with the three email promotions I've booked for it.

The only downside to the TOO free promo is that I've only gotten one new review out of the several thousand people that downloaded it while it was free, and the several hundred that have read it in KU since then. It's gotten several star ratings on Goodreads, which only served to drag the overall average down, which tells me that it's time to sort of let TOO go. I'm not unpublishing it or anything, but I'm not planning to exert anymore energy promoting it for the foreseeable future.

Instead I'm going to focus on No Safe Place and Becoming Family. I've been hesitant about offering No Safe Place for free, because it's my baby and it just hasn't felt right to give it away for free, but considering how well the free promo for TOO went, with so many new people downloading and reading it, I think I'm going to finally cave and do a free promo for No Safe Place in February, and depending on how well it goes, maybe another one later in the year.

As for Becoming Family, I took a little break, but now I'm back into it, and I'm still thinking I'll have it out next year, hopefully no later than the end of summer. Need time to finish it, get a cover made, and have my lovely editors give me their feedback.

And once Becoming Family is out, I'll get back into Crimson Hollow. Publication on that one is still a few years off, and I'll hopefully get some more things out in the interim, but only time will tell.

Here's hoping 2020 is the year my books finally become steady income producers! And as always, if you'd like to help out, you can become a Patron, donate to my Ko-Fi, or donate straight to PayPal. Anything and everything helps!

If I don't update again before then, I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday, whatever you celebrate, and a very happy New Year!
