2021 is a mess so far

Apologies for not updating this in so long. I don't know if anybody even reads this thing, but maybe there are a few of you out there.

2021 has been a weird year for me so far. For reasons I can't explain (possibly depression related?), I turned my laptop on maybe 3 or 4 times between January and like, the end of April. I've always been a person who was on my laptop daily, and for some reason, that changed at the beginning of this year.

Of course, that also meant I wasn't writing. I have finally, within the last few days, started turning on my laptop again and working on Becoming Family, but man... it's been a process. I want to get this book out, but my brain is just not functioning right lately. I'm stressed about money (as always), and I need a new job, but looking for a job is probably the most depressing thing in the world.

Sometimes I wish I had another marketable skill, especially something that was a little bit more instant gratification, like YouTube or TikTok, but I'm not a video kind of person and I never have been, and what do I have to talk about anyway, lol. I have gotten back into makeup this year, after watching Bailey Sarian and Jaime French on YouTube, so that's been fun.

I gotta get back on the horse, so to speak. Book sales have been paltry this year, since I haven't really done any promo (need money for promo... don't have money for promo... oof). I gotta get BF out, get to working on other things, and somehow find another source of income in all of this?

If anybody wants to help out long-term, you can become a Patron. I'm terrible about updating my Patreon, but I also only have one subscriber now, and also, again, not much has been going on. However, the more Patrons I have, the more incentivized I will be to provide that sweet, sweet exclusive content.

If you want to help short-term, there's PayPal, Venmo (Mary-Head-16), or CashApp (marywrites). I don't particularly enjoy asking for money all the time, but I still haven't fully recovered from the shakiness of my job earlier this year, and in a couple of weeks, I will be losing that client, and things are gonna get bad again unless I can somehow fill in the gap. Things are rough all over, I know, but if anybody can throw a little bit my way, I'd really appreciate it.

Cross your fingers that my next update won't take another 4 months, lol.
