The Only One

Sparks fly when Piper Vaughn, a Manhattan real estate agent, meets Richard Spencer, a wealthy English businessman in New York for a year on an extended project and looking for a place to live. She's blonde and beautiful, with a sweet smile and bubbly personality, while he's tall and lean, with bright blue eyes and a laidback demeanor, and also nearly 20 years her senior. Though the attraction is mutual and instantaneous, they try to keep their relationship strictly professional, but as soon as they close on Richard's new apartment, they can't resist each other any longer.

A sweet and passionate romance develops between the two, but before they know it, Richard's project is over and he must return to London. This abrupt wake-up call is compounded by the return of Piper's ex-boyfriend, and she is faced with a life changing decision. Should she stay in New York, the city she never thought she would want to leave, or give everything up to start a new life in London with the man she loves?

So, about that book...

Hi. It's me. If you didn't already know, I'm terrible at updating this thing, but I've hit a new low, I think. Becoming Family has been out for two months and I haven't updated at all. Have I mentioned before I suck at self-promotion? So yes. Becoming Family is out. Not doing so well because of aforementioned suckage. Life is a lot these days. Cats have been having health issues, I'm still trying to figure out a good work schedule and actually settle into it, and I'm feeling a general apathy about being productive lately. I want to start working on Winter's Noelle . I can feel the urge, but the actual "okay so do it" isn't quite there. I'm hoping it'll kickstart soon. In more positive news, I got a new car! I got a loan to pay off all of my debt! Cover Designer Spotlight + Cover Reveal

When I first started self-publishing books, I made my own covers, because it was cheaper. Having spent several years making graphics for fun for the various fandoms I was in, I had a small amount of experience, and my covers were okay. I have my strengths (enhancing coloring, blending images together) and of course my weaknesses (I've never been particularly good at working with text, and I don't have much patience when it comes to cutting things out of images, or changing the color of things like hair or clothing). I redid the cover for The Only One myself a couple years ago, and I'm still pretty pleased with it; it better conveys the steamy nature of the book, and the warmer colors better express the overall tone of the story, plus I got to blend two images together, which has always been one of my favorite things to do. The new normal

Hello, friends. One day I hope to get better about updating this thing, lol. I just finished my seventh week at my new job, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. The amount of freedom I have is something I only ever dreamed of having in a job. I can basically do whatever I want, as long as I get my work done, which has been so great for my anxiety. I wear what I want, get to work when I want (within reason, lol, but basically I can get there "late" and it doesn't really matter), I work from home on Wednesdays right now, and I even worked at home a little bit today because I left early yesterday. The environment is great, the people are great, and while the work can definitely be boring, everything else makes it not so bad. Having more money is obviously great too. I finally got a new mattress (it's financed, but I don't feel stressed about the payments), and I've been able to buy other things here and there that I need. One sad thing is that my grandm
